Specialty Workshops Topics
Special G.A.L.S.
G.A.L.S. stands for “Girls and Ladies with Autism and Special needs,” representing a group dedicated to supporting females of all ages with autism and developmental disabilities. This initiative emphasizes inclusivity and empowerment, ensuring that girls and women with unique needs have access to the resources, care, and community they deserve. By focusing on their strengths and potential, G.A.L.S. aims to create a space where they can thrive, advocate for themselves, and connect with others who understand their journey.
This workshop, designed specifically about females with autism and developmental disabilities, focuses on addressing the unique life changes they experience, including the physical and emotional changes their bodies go through. The program will also explore how society perceives them and offer strategies to help them navigate these perceptions. With a tailored approach, the workshop will cover essential topics like supported needs and resources specifically designed for them, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge they require. Additionally, we will discuss how we can best support the caregivers and families who play a critical role in their lives, creating a comprehensive support network for all involved.
Become the Ultimate Advocate
In this workshop, participants will explore how to become the ultimate advocates for the individuals they care for with autism or related disabilities. The session will equip participants with tools and strategies to navigate challenges with confidence and compassion. An important focus will be placed on the essential role of self-care. Recognizing that in order to care for others, individuals must first take care of themselves, the workshop will delve into methods for balancing personal well-being with advocacy. This balance aims to lead to better outcomes for both the advocates and their loved ones.
