CARD Tropical Nights 2016

CARD Tropical Nights 2016

Tropical Nights is an annual fundraiser hosted by the UM Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD). This spectacular tropical-themed evening managed to raise over $400,000 for CARD and Autism Awareness!

This year Mona Nasser, received the Cruz-Whitehurst Advocacy Award.

UM-NSU CARD is based in UM’s Department of Psychology and NSU’s Abraham S. Fischler School of Education and Human Services Programs in Speech-Language and Communication Disorders. It is a state-funded resource and support program dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with autism and related disabilities including deaf-blindness and pervasive developmental disorders.

CARD’s mission is all about “You + I” and what we as families, friends and community partners can accomplish together to make our community a better, more inclusive place for people affected by autism and related disabilities. Today, CARD serves nearly 9,000 families registered in Miami-Dade, Monroe and Broward Counties. Last year alone, over 800 new families came to CARD for help.
